(II Sam 7:1-5, 8-11, 16; Lk 1:67-79)

“The Dayspring shall visit us
in his mercy
To shine on those
who sit in darkness
and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet
into the way of peace.”
(Luke 1:78, 79)

As we stand on the threshold of Christmas, create a space of quiet in the midst of today’s many activities.

“There is something on the horizon the likes of which we have never seen before. . . .

Stay. Sit. Linger. Tarry. Ponder. Wait. Behold. Wonder.

There will be time enough for running. For rushing. For worrying. For pushing.

For now, stay. Wait.

Something is on the horizon.”
